At the age of 27 I have listened to older heads speak about the great leaders of yesteryear; Thatcher, Churchill, Roosevelt , Kennedy and I have always wondered what it would be like to live in the time of their legendary leadership. At the end of 2016 my imagination slowed as I accepted the reality that I was already living in the time of one of the greatest World Leaders the global community will ever see; British Prime Minister Theresa May.
As the Youth Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago and former Commonwealth Youth Ambassador of a former Colony of the British Crown, there is no doubt in my mind that Theresa May will become the greatest leader of the 21st century, and I’m not only talking due to the huge landslide victory she is carded to gain on June 8th in the UK General Elections.
Theresa May is diamond among rhinestones when it comes to the Global Leadership composition but what makes this humble daughter of a vicar different from other World Leaders is her patriotic sincerity coupled with her determined vision. In essence Theresa May is not about power, she is not about position but she is about people. One can clearly see Prime Minister May is a woman who is on a mission to better each and every life, household, business, youth, woman and citizen of the United Kingdom.
What has greatly inspired me thousands of miles away about this amazing Politician is the fact that she does not act as a Politician. She has remained a human being, focused on getting a job done, a job which she has aced in the past months as Policy head of the greatest nation on earth. Theresa May took over the reigns of the United Kingdom during one of the most volatile times in the Kingdom’s amazing History, but her “brexit means brexit ” modus operandi demonstrated that not only was she going to be a strong leader but a leader that will be propelled by the convictions and wishes of the UK people balanced by what is best for the sustainable national development of the United Kingdom.
The UK Elections come at a very critical crossroads in the Global political map.They come at a time when Europe is redefining herself,the world is adjusting to Donald Trump, the middle east remains unstable, China’s economy is booming and Modi is innovating India, but most importantly it comes at a time when the UK stands a chance of leading world development once more.
However if the UK is going to lead Global Development and reach the pinnacle of world super power once more it needs a Government of stability, a government with sustainable vision and governance with integrity. That type of government is only possible with a Theresa May election victory.
As a young person I am not sure of many things, which is one of the qualities of being young, but what I am concrete sure of is that Theresa May based on her brilliant leadership qualities is destined to become the greatest leader of the 21st century.
As Youth Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago I write this to let the UK people know how lucky they are to have such a magnificent leader and if one day I shall ever be fortunate to shake the Prime Minister’s hand, I’ll say; “Madam Prime Minister you are every young persons inspiration and you are the greatest leader of the 21st century”
