Great Britain has always been a pillar of strength for our Commonwealth standing strong to assist in times of disaster, times of crisis and aiding in significant development from trade to education.
Great Britain’s importance to the world far exceeds any other nation given its contribution to development from the Magna Carta to Parliamentary Democracy. While many view the leader of the free world as the US President, the reality is the British Prime Minister has been the pivotal foundation of Commonwealth Politics.
The British Prime Minister is the first port of call for all Commonwealth nations in times of need, in times of political turmoil and in the desire to build stronger political relations due to the common history we have all shared
From Walpole to Boris, the role of the British Prime Minister is one which is vital to world liberty, global development and defending the principles of good governance which has created our Commonwealth of nations.
As Boris gets ready to leave Downing Street there is no denying, whatever your perception in post pandemic months that he was one of the most charismatic and determined Leaders. Therefore the person who enters that sacred black door in Downing Street must possess an even greater political will to defeat the problems facing the British Government.
Unlike British Prime Ministers before, the next British Premier will be called upon to chart waters out of a pandemic, chart a course in a post brexit world as well as in a world which is battling a chaotic left more focused on cancel culture as opposed to merit.
However, cometh the hour, cometh a person the Commonwealth can “Truss” in Elizabeth Truss, Member of Parliament for South West Norfolk and Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs.
Unlike her rival(s) Rishi Sunak and those in the previous rounds, Truss didn’t need the campaign to prove why she should be Prime Minister as her dynamic record demonstrated that before. As a matter of fact, few people have been “ready made premier” as Truss given her various cabinet roles and work for the UK Government.
As Foreign Secretary Truss has shown that she is not the simple “I’ll agree with you for diplomacy’s sake” type but she has been one to call a spade a spade as seen in her brilliant call out of Macron on the hustings.
What will impress any serious-minded economist, businessman or citizen affected by the cost of living throughout the global community is the economic plan of Liz Truss. From the very start Liz Truss has touted the importance and commitments to tax cuts. Her economic plans are not simply “Rishi” rhetoric but offer a sustainable pathway to recovery, investment, job creation and poverty alleviation which other Commonwealth nations can follow. You’d expect this brilliant vision from someone who was Economic Director of a massive company as was Truss.
The economics of Truss is not just built upon “textbook” economics and positions papers from civil servants, Truss served as Secretary for International Development where before being appointed as Foreign Secretary she was responsible for millions in new trade deals post Brexit. So Liz Truss understands the potential and where the economy needs to go, but more importantly she understands what needs to be done to make the British economy more prosperous. The Commonwealth would be truly blessed to have a British Prime Minister who once was in charge of securing trade deals with Commonwealth nations.
Few leaders can enter Number 10 with a dynamic resume in different areas as Liz Truss having served as Secretary for the Environment to Secretary for Justice. With a resume as prolific as Liz Truss’ the future of the British people is in safe hands because their premier will truly understand every aspect of UK life.
For the Commonwealth a Liz Truss premiership means the start of a new day as it would definitely mean greater corporation as was demonstrated in her tenure as Foreign Secretary and Secretary for International Trade.
The left can wage as huge a war as they want, but the reality is that Great Britain will always be great for contributions to world development. In Liz Truss the Conservative party and the UK people have someone who will stand up against the left and even against draconian plots such as future lockdowns. A Truss premiership is a victory for liberty.
In Elizabeth Truss the UK has a Leader which will stand among other global Leaders and return Britain to the very top of Global Politics.
In Elizabeth Truss the Commonwealth has a Leader who will inspire and enrich the fight to recovery as the political foundation of our group of nations.
If there was ever any words to be inspired from it is her words on the hustings “ I want everybody to be able to succeed, regardless of their background, regardless of where they are from. I want people to get on in life. I want us to become an aspiration nation.”
Britain, the Commonwealth and Global Community need a UK Prime Minister that is resilient, people-centred, has a brave economic plan, has prolific Cabinet experience, has a growth based vision, is determined to deal with the problems head on and stands up to the left.
That leader is Liz Truss.
